Biggest Challenge of Starting your Own Business: Resisting the urge to “do it later”. Working from home requires a lot of discipline in order to get things done in a timely manner. I’ve found that I have become much more organized, and am able to multi-task in order to manage running a household, tending to my 10-month-old daughter and running an online home based business. I am constantly juggling a variety of things, and everyday another ball gets thrown into the mix, that turns each day into an adventure.

Best Piece of Advice: Like Nike says, “Just do it”. There is always going to be something that lures you away from doing what you truly enjoy, you have to not allow any negativity surround you and follow your dreams.

My Story: The company began out of my love for greeting cards. I started out personalizing birthday cards for my family and friends, and then I began creating unique invitations for my nephews’ birthday parties, (if the party was being held at a bowling alley then the invitation was a bowling ball and pin with the details….) and note cards that I would give for friends’ baby or wedding showers. Over the past two years, I had a strong following of family, friends and co-workers who enjoyed my work. Adding the personal touch to the greeting cards showed the recipient that you took the time to think of them. When my daughter was born, I was off on maternity leave, and decided to seize the opportunity to get a website and go “global” with my products. Because I am an online home based business, the personal touch is very important. I strive to offer special packaging, gift-wrapping and flexible personalization in order to stand out among the rest.

Since the birth of my website, I have added gifts for the home, baby and her with lots more to come... There is a certain amount of freedom that you enjoy when you are your own boss and work from home, and it is a good thing.

My Goal for the Future: I enjoy creating something truly unique that captures the spirit of the user, and hopefully the recipient. I hope to keep adding new, unique and fun items, as well as continue to meet the needs of the consumer.
